segNET Technologies network enhancements and Network Operations Center(NOC) bring new broadband services and communications infrastructure to New England businesses

Enfield, New Hampshire - October 12, 2000 - segNET Technologies, Inc., a New England-based communications company, with offices in Enfield, NH today announced the completion of its latest network build and the opening of its high tech Network Operations Center (NOC) in West Lebanon, NH. This network build increases segNET's aggregate bandwidth to over 250 megs of Internet access through its network of SuperPOPs, co-location facilities, data centers and DSL network which spans over 330 central offices in the Northeast. This infrastructure deployment puts segNET near its goal as the largest upstream connectivity provider in northern New England.

The West Lebanon Data Center is supported in part by segNET's SONET ATM backbone providing low-latency and high bandwidth needed for demanding e-Business applications such as videoconferencing, distance learning and other content-rich activities. The SONET ring encircles segNET's regional points of presence, including Manchester, Portsmouth, Lebanon, and Hanover, New Hampshire; Cambridge, Massachusetts, and White River Junction, Vermont. This facility, located in an enhanced security underground structure, is also home to segNET's new web services cluster and includes a new secure co-location center. The facilities offer fully redundant and fault-tolerant support systems that are coupled with their signature proactive network management services.

First step toward future expansions
segNET's latest network enhancements represent the first step in building the infrastructure to provide state-of-the-art technologies to business, finacial, educational and healthcare organizations in the Northeast as wel as to clients in North America, Europe and Asia. The recent facilities' enhancements and upcoming addition of capacity to segNET's existing multi-megabit Wireless Microwave Data Service allow for increased market coverage and higher speed wireless offerings. The planned upgrading of segNET's 1.2Mbs DSL infrastructure allows for the delivery of multi-megabit DSL services. segNET was the first in the region to deploy wireless data and DSL service and is committed to upgrading and expanding it's core network to provide the most reliable and highest-speed services to its customers. segNET's recent network expansions into Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont lead the campaign offering enterprise organizations using the latest "last mile" delivery technologies and fully managed service in the Northeast.
