SCORE Signs Development Agreement with segNET Technologies of NH to Enhance SCORE Web Site Technology

segNET To Continue As ISP and Technology Partner Under Terms of Agreement

Washington, D.C.—SCORE, "Counselors to America's Small Business" and segNET Technologies Inc. of Enfield, NH have extended their five-year strategic alliance with the signing of an agreement to redevelop the email counseling system on the SCORE Small Business Web Site (www.score.org). In addition, a three-year agreement has also been reached whereby segNET Technologies will continue to serve as the hosting provider and web site content management provider for the site.

The new email counseling system will offer advanced proprietary technology and an updated SQL database engine, which will significantly increase the capacity of the system. Since its initial development by segNET in 1997, the email counseling system has processed over 125,000 counseling cases by more than 850 online counselors and now accounts for over 25 percent of SCORE's counseling services. The new platform will bring additional features and management functionality, as well as allow it to scale to provide over 20,000 volunteer counselors, and process up to 500,000 counseling sessions.

SCORE's email counseling system is powered by a search engine that provides entrepreneurs with access to more than 850 email counselors, who are ready to establish an email dialogue in order to answer entrepreneurs' business questions based on a match between entrepreneurs' interests and counselors' expertise.

Through an extensive database of counselor skills, an entrepreneur can type a question or search for a counselor via a list of over 600 business skills and get a listing of counselors with the skills that most closely match the small business question. Entrepreneurs can then establish a counseling session with the SCORE counselor of their choice.
